Hi, I’m Chi (pronounced “shy”). I’m a multidisciplinary designer based in Naarm/Melbourne working across three connected areas of practice: commercial design, type design and tertiary education.

My commercial work centres on brand identity systems with a strong focus on typography, digital, print and tangible outcomes. I often collaborate with studios, arts organisations and cultural clients to build visual languages that feel considered, durable and adaptable across campaigns, publications and merchandise.

Alongside this, I design and contribute to type projects that range from functional families to more experimental forms. This research-led approach also feeds into my teaching at Monash University, where I teach branding, typography, digital type design and unconventional publishing.

These three strands tend to frequently overlap. Whether I’m developing a custom typeface for a brand, building an identity system with collaborators, or teaching at Monash University, I’m drawn to work that’s thoughtful, well crafted and built to last.

I’m always open to thoughtful collaborations, from early ideas to established brands. If you think we might align, reach out.
